Grand Union’s youth mentoring and community engagement programme has been shortlisted for a national award.
The programme, run by our Youth Involvement team, is a finalist at the Tpas Awards in the category of Excellence in Community Action Award.
Phil Hard, Executive Director of Operations at Grand Union said: “We’re really proud of our youth work, so it’s great to get some national recognition by being a finalist.
“At Grand Union we want to enable better lives and help people to realise their aspirations, and our youth services are just one of the ways we help to do this.”
The awards will be, for the first time in its 12-year history, one national event, and have attracted submissions from across the country.
The ceremony takes place on Friday 29 March and will celebrate engagement in the housing sector.
Introducing the new awards format, Tpas Chief Executive, Jenny Osbourne, said: “The Tpas Awards have been around for nearly 12 years; in that time we’ve seen considerable changes to the engagement agenda.
“With this new format we’re continuing to host the only awards dedicated to shining a spotlight solely on the special successes that can only be achieved when residents, landlords and contractors work together. The Tpas Awards have, and always will, be about people. About homes, not units. About communities, not stock.”
