We’re extremely proud that one of our schemes, Catton Close, in Naseby, Northamptonshire, was selected as finalists for the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence awards 2020. The awards celebrate building excellence, in the delivery of construction and workmanship.
The scheme was nominated for the best social or affordable new housing development, thanks to a fantastic scheme, Catton Close. We took handover of six affordable properties on this site, through Francis Jackson Homes, as part of the obligations within the government’s section 106 agreement.
Section 106 requires any new housing development over a set threshold (usually anything over 10 homes) to provide a percentage of the homes for affordable housing. Private developers and housebuilders will sell these affordable homes onto a housing association, which is where we step in!
Our colleagues were over the moon that this development was selected from a panel of judges from the LABC and it helps to celebrate our commitments to the community.
