Have you remembered to tell UC about your new rent?
If you claim UC you need to make sure they know about your new rent, otherwise your benefit could underpay you.
You should have received a to-do to complete on your online account. Open this up and follow the instructions.
If you can’t see a to-do and you haven’t already reported your rent, follow the instructions below to let them know:
- Log in and click on your home tab,
- Choose report a change of circumstances, then choose Housing
- Now enter in all of your details.
- Make sure you pick the correct date for when it changed.
- For monthly tenancies this is 1 April 2022, for weekly tenancies it’s 4 April 2022.
You should do this as soon as possible to make sure you don’t miss out on extra benefit.
