News – 17 October 2022 With rising costs of food, energy and fuel, everyone’s facing enormous financial pressure right now, so the government has published some help for households. Visit their website to find out what cost of living support you could be entitled to: costoflivingsupport.campaign.gov.uk/ This month, millions of households will start receiving a £400 discount on their energy bills. The payments will be made over a six month period to provide financial help during the winter months. Those who pay for electricity by direct debit, standing order, deduction from benefits or on receipt of bill will receive the deduction automatically on their bills. Smart prepayment meter customers should see the discounts applied automatically to their meter; other prepayment meter customers will be provided with discount vouchers from the first week of each month, issued by SMS text, email or post. Customers will need to redeem these at a top-up point, such as a PayPoint or Post Office.
