Grand Union to manage new key worker apartments

Milton Keynes-based Grand Union Housing Group has signed a 10-year deal to manage 79 homes for key workers at the new Campbell Wharf development.

The apartments, which sit alongside the Grand Union Canal at the sought-after location, are a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bed flats, and are being offered specifically to key workers at a discounted rent at 80% of the market rate.

Grand Union, who also provide affordable housing across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Hertfordshire, has an agreement in place with Man Global Private Markets (GPM), the property owners, to take on the day-to-day management of the apartments for the next decade.

Dave Lakin, Director of New Business & Development at Grand Union, said: “We’re really pleased to be able play our part in providing affordable, high-quality housing in Milton Keynes.

“We have almost 30 years’ experience in providing affordable homes at Grand Union, and we’ll be using that knowledge to work alongside Man GPM to help them build a genuinely sustainable community in the area.”

The development at Campbell Wharf is just a short walk from Milton Keynes city centre and is surrounded by green spaces, a 111-berth marina, shops and cafes.
