Sustainability

We’re developing our new five-year Sustainability Strategy. We asked customers to share their priorities, concerns and lived experiences on:

  • Energy efficiency/affordability
  • Repairs
  • Green/communal spaces
  • Biodiversity
  • Estate design

Customers were also asked to identify any barriers affecting vulnerable customers and those living in mixed tenure communities.

Your voice

  • You want us to improve energy efficiency across our homes.
  • You’d like us to increase/strengthen biodiversity and protect trees.
  • You want us to improve communal spaces to support customer wellbeing.
  • You’d like us to provide clearer communications around our investment plans and guidance on sustainability.
  • You want us to improve our responsiveness to repairs and maintenance issues.

Your impact

What we’ve done
  • We’ve embedded customer recommendations into our Sustainability Strategy, focusing on energy efficiency, biodiversity and building communities.
What we’re doing
  • We’re prioritising energy efficiency upgrades for homes with the lowest Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings, focusing on the most vulnerable households.
  • We’re integrating biodiversity-friendly practices within the Sustainability Strategy, rather than separately.
  • We’ll provide clear, accessible communications on any investment in sustainability and EPC ratings.
  • We’ll publish phased investment action plans around energy efficiency and biodiversity.

What’s next

We’ll continue to work with customers to shape our Sustainability Strategy. We’ll make sure we use your feedback to influence our long-term planning.

Thanks to everyone who took provided feedback for this.
