Waiting list

We operate a waiting list for our garages. These are operated on a date of application basis. However, there are exceptions:

  • The applicant will be given preference if they are a current Grand Union customer unless they already have two garages.
  • The applicant will be given preference if they receive a disability benefit and needs a garage so they can park close to their home.

Why we may refuse a garage application

You will not be considered for a garage or hardstanding if:

  • Any kind of debt is owed. This includes current or former Grand Union tenancies. It also applies to all members of customer’s household. Applications will not be considered until the debt is cleared.
  • If there are any other potential breaches of tenancy. This could include, an anti-social behaviour (ASB) complaint recorded, a record of abuse towards our staff or making false statements in order to secure a tenancy.

Ending your garage tenancy

If you would like to give up your garage you will need to let us know in advance.

Your original garage licence agreement will tell you the notice period. Email us if you have any questions about this.
