Collection of bins is the responsibility of your local council. If you’re having any issues with collections, please get in touch with them. If you’re not sure who your local council is, you can find out using the gov.uk postcode search tool.
Please remember to:
- be considerate when you leave your bins out for refuse collectors to empty; they should not cause an obstruction to the public highway or footpaths.
- store your bin in a convenient place that doesn’t cause an obstruction or annoyance to your neighbours, such as by doorways, under windows or in front of utility meters. Please note the location and placement of bins is not considered to be anti-social behaviour.
- keep communal bin areas tidy and use the correct bins for the rubbish type.
- contact your local council about bulky waste removal rather than leave large items, such as furniture, in bin stores.
