As a landlord we provide cover for the structure of your property, we do not provide cover for your home contents.

Contents insurance is designed to help protect your possessions. No matter how careful you are, there’s always a risk that your belongings could be broken, damaged or stolen so home contents insurance can help provide peace of mind.

It’s a good idea to consider what a home contents insurance policy would cover you for in order to help you make an informed decision on whether you need one.

Below are some of the items which can be included with home insurance depending on the cover you have:

  • Glazing of windows and doors
  • flooding, storm damage
  • Accidental damage to items such as bath, toilet, wash basin
  • Wood, wood-effect laminate or other sheet floor coverings. You should also seek to include the cost of relaying and making good.
  • Furniture, carpets, curtains, clothes, bedding, electrical items, jewellery, pictures and ornaments.

With a special scheme called My Home arranged in conjunction with the National Housing Federation, Thistle Tenant Risks and Allianz Insurance plc, Grand Union customers and residents can protect their belongings and gain peace of mind knowing if the unexpected happens they have cover.
