How Grand Union
can help

We take domestic abuse extremely seriously. If you get in touch with us about domestic abuse, we’ll:

  • listen to you
  • believe you
  • be led by you
  • treat what you tell us in confidence.
  • contact you only when and how it’s best for you.

A home should provide safety and security, but for many people home is anything but safe.

With your permission, we will help you find specialist support and look to improve the security of your home. We can undertake a range of measures to help you feel safer in your home, additional door locks and security chains.

If you do wish to leave, we can discuss your housing options and support you through this. We can also support you to take action against your abuser, if you want to.

The National Domestic Abuse Helpline website has very good information that applies to anyone in any area about what to do in an emergency.

If you’re a customer and you want us to help you

Or call our Customer Contact team on 0300 123 5544, between 8.45am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

If you’re a professional supporting a Grand Union customer/family and we can help.

Our commitment

To show our commitment to supporting customers or colleagues affected by domestic abuse, we’ve signed the ‘Make a Stand’ pledge that was launched in 2018 by the Chartered Institute of Housing in partnership with Women’s Aid and the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA). We’re working towards being DAHA accredited, which means you can be sure we are delivering safe and effective responses to domestic abuse
