We believe investment in our people is an investment in the communities they serve. That’s why we have a centre of excellence, called the K2 Academy which helps to nurture colleagues so they thrive in their roles and reach their full potential.

The K2 Academy, provides colleagues with engaging and exciting opportunities to learn, develop and progress their career.

From our apprentices, right through to senior leaders, the K2 Academy helps grow and nurture our talent, supporting colleagues to reach their full potential and thrive in the future world of work.

Graduates from the Operations Leader Programme

Included in the Academy is a Leadership Elevator, which provides bespoke training for colleagues at different managerial levels at Grand Union. This includes the below programmes:

  • Aspire – for colleagues wanting to dip their toes into management
  • Firm Foundations – for those undertaking their first supervisory role
  • Operations Leaders – training for current managers and leaders

There are also numerous shorter courses, aimed at helping colleagues thrive in their current roles and preparing them for the future world of work and technology, on topics such as:

  • Emotional intelligence
  • Presentation skills
  • Mentoring

We’ve held Investors in People (IIP) accreditation since 2000 and hold a Silver Accreditation – something only 15% of the organisations IIP assess achieve.
