Feedback on Awaab’s Law

Wooden figures of people with speech bubbles above their heads

The tragic death of Awaab Ishak in December 2020 due to exposure to mould shocked the nation.

As a result, the Government is looking to bring in Awaab’s Law. It will mean all social landlords must investigate and fix reported dangerous health and safety hazards within a set amount of time.

The Government is now looking for feedback on the law, specifically about the timeframes to fix hazards.

Have your say

The consultation on the law runs until Tuesday 5 March and they want to hear views from a range of people.

You can find the full details of the proposals and how to have your say on the Government’s website.
